About Hotelwise.com

Welcome, my name is Andrés Collart and I founded Hotelwise.com in 2024 after spending nearly 10 years on the flights side of the travel industry. This Canadian online hotel booking site is headquartered in lovely Halifax, Nova Scotia and is meant to help Canadians find the right hotel for their trip.

Hotelwise.com differs from the competition in a few key areas:

• Prices are tax-inclusive and in Canadian dollars - always. This ensures there are no surprises and when you are shopping around you can easily compare - I've worked really hard to have the best prices so there's no shame in showing them all in!
• When searching for hotels on other sites notice the "What we are paid impacts our sort order" on the results page - something they have had to place there after consumer protections lawsuits. That is fundamentally antithetical to what I want to do with Hotelwise where I focus on helping you find the right hotel - not the one that makes me the highest commission. Ultimately we get a cut of every booking (some more, some less) but helping you find the right hotel for your trip is in my view is the right way to do business.
• Hotelwise is one of the very few hotel booking sites operating in Canada that is actually Canadian!

Though the online booking site is the main business, through this blog I want to provide guides and information on key destinations that Canadians travel to in order to make that experience even better and help you find the right hotels, places to eat, and attractions for your trip. It's also a place for me to share some of my favourite trips and experiences with the world.
